Accessibility Statement
During the period in which we are converting our web site over from a tables based design to a more accessible design this statement only applies to the new pages.
Web Site Accessibility
In designing this site we have tried to consider the needs of all potential users. This web site is targeted solely at UK adult residents and is subject the the Laws of England and Wales only. We have endeavoured to take care to ensure that the pages are valid XHTML and have validated them on accessibility evaluation tools. Where automated checks have highlighted issues that require manual checking we have undertaken this form of check and where ever possible have made changes to ensure compliance. The page content and formatting are kept separate. We have used validated cascading style sheets to apply formatting and have used em measurements and percentages for type sizes so that you may increase the size of text and keep it in proportion. The whole page should grow as the text size is increased so that, if you need to increase the text size, the overall design should appear the same to you as it does to people who view it with text at the normal size.
The whole of the web site uses English Language, some of which incorporates unavoidable technical words and insurance jargon. In order to help you to understand these words and phrases we have provided explanations and definitions.
We have endeavoured to order the page content of each page so that when the page is viewed unformatted, ie with cascading style sheets disabled, the main content is at the top of the page and links to other pages within the site and pages to other sites appears towards the bottom of the page.
The template pages used to build the site have been tested on a wide range of browsers to try to ensure that presentation is similar to the vast majority of users. If you see any particular problems in your browser please advise our webmaster with details of your browser, operating system and the page URL which caused the problem.
We are committed to maintaining a high level of accessibility and would welcome any comments on how we might improve your enjoyment of our site. You may contact us at:
