Touring Caravan Insurance that rewards the wiser owner

Caravan insurance for touring caravans arranged by Caravan-wise really does reward you with lower premiums. Our underwriter's caravan insurance discount structure builds depending on your age, no claims, security devices used and membership of a caravan or caravan owners club. With these discounts on top of our already competitive premiums many caravan owners can benefit from first rate caravan insurance cover at a competitive price.

Note: for some, what we consider to be particularly "low risk" caravans such as older smaller caravans, discounts may be taken to the maximum for all clients and additional discounts are then not allowed. This means that most people with a low risk caravan get a very good deal from Caravanwise.

Sensible security precautions

One of the major causes of loss for caravans is theft and in common with all caravan insurance policies the insurer, NIG, requires you to take certain minimum precautions. So whenever your caravan is left unattended you must fit either a hitch lock or wheel clamp. Many policies require you to use both a hitch lock and wheel clamp which can be very inconvenient when touring. The Caravanwise requirements are much more realistic but we do recommend that you use both when you have the caravan parked up at home or in storage.

Help when you need to claim

When you buy a caravan insurance policy arranged by Caravanwise you have NIG's (The Underwriter) promise to pay your valid claim promptly and fairly. For small claims up to £250 you can even authorise reasonable repairs yourself.

Tourer, Touring or Static

We interchange the terms touring caravan and tourer caravan insurance as each of these terms describes exactly the same thing. The cost of insurance for touring caravans is higher than for static caravans. For the purposes of this insurance a touring caravan which is on a fixed site ie used as if it were a static caravan is still charged a premium as if it were a touring caravan being towed about behind a car.

The difference in premiums between touring caravans and static caravans is mainly accounted for by the higher rate of theft and accidental damage of tourers. Static caravans are much more prone to storm and flood damage.
