Have you got the right licence to tow your caravan?
There are specific driving licence rules on the weight of the trailer you are permitted to tow and the combined weight of the car and trailer. All drivers who plan to tow a caravan or trailer regardless of when they passed their test, must ensure that their UK driving licence allows them to tow the weight of caravan and car they will be using.
If you passed your test after 1st January 1997 it is particularly important that you check that your licence permits you to tow your caravan. Check the maximum weight of your trailer and the un-laden weight of the car you will use to tow it and then check the Government web page detailed below.
Full details of the licence rules for towing are on the Governments' driver licensing caravan and trailer towing web page: Caravans and Trailers Driver Licensing. The Caravanning and Camping club have a page that explains the law simply here: Towing are you Legal?
Remember it is your own responsibility to check that you have the correct licence to tow your caravan.
